Dr. Delos Everett Bell, a physician, was born in Brockville, Ontario in 1892. He graduated in Medicine from Queen's University in 1914 and trained in surgery at Kingston General Hospital. Dr. Bell served in the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. Dr. Bell was Chief Medical Officer of the Workmen's Compensation Board of Ontario. He was a Fellow of the Toronto Academy of Medicine.
Dr. Bell and his wife, Eva, had one son (Dr. R. Douglas Bell). He passed away on 17 March 1972 in Toronto.

William Bell (1780-1857) was a Presbyterian minister, ordained in Edinburgh in 1817. That year he came to Canada as minister for the Scottish immigrants who had formed the Perth settlement. For many years he did a large amount of home mission work over the county of Lanark and part of Leeds. Increasing infirmity compelled him to cease his ministrations early in 1857 and he died later that year.

Joseph Hilaire Pierre René Belloc was an English writer and historian and one of the most prolific writers in England during the early twentieth century. Belloc was also an orator, poet, sailor, satirist, writer of letters, soldier, and political activist. His Catholic faith had a strong impact on his works. He was President of the Oxford Union and later MP for Salford from 1906 to 1910. He was a noted disputant, with a number of long-running feuds, but also widely regarded as a humane and sympathetic man. Belloc became a naturalised British subject in 1902 while retaining his French citizenship.
His writings encompassed religious poetry and comic verse for children. His widely sold Cautionary Tales for Children included "Jim, who ran away from his nurse, and was eaten by a lion" and "Matilda, who told lies and was burnt to death". He also collaborated with G. K. Chesterton on a number of works.

The Belvedere Housing Co-operative was incorporated in 1984 for the purpose of providing residential accommodation to its members on a non-profit basis. The Co-op was based in the former Belvedere Hotel at 141 King St. E., Kingston, Ontario.
