John MacLeod Gill (1848-1921) and his brother James Gill, owned and operated James Smart Manufacturing in Brockville, producers of hardware, tools, heaters etc. He and his wife Mary Catherine Margaret Purkis Gill had three daughters, Anne, Bessie, and Mary Roberta and a son, Robert. In 1913 Mary Roberta married Rev. Norman MacLeod, Presbyterian minister and moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Brockville.
Andrew Rankin was a carter at Kingston, Ontario. He had two sons: Charles, a carpenter and James W., a tinsmith.
Harvey Knox and Madeline Lowing were married April 8. 1944. They had a farm in Glenburnie where they held a dairy interest for some time but also grew award winning barley. Madeline Ellen Knox passed away, on Monday, October 25, 2010 in Kingston. Harvey Francis Knox passed away July 9, 1985.
The Carson family has been in Kingston since 1840 or thereabouts when Robert Carson arrived. Two of his sons went on to become mayors of Kingston.
Ira Smith and his son, Wendell, ran the Long Lake Cheese Factory in Parham, Ontario. The family also operated a general store in the same area.
