Name of creator
George Bernard Shaw was born in Dublin, Ireland on 26th July, 1856. A noted playwright, drama critic and socialist, Shaw was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1925. A few of his well-known plays include, "Arms and the Man" (1898), "The Doctor's Dilemma" (1906), and "Pygmalion" (1913). Shaw died on 2nd November, 1950.
Queen's University Board of Trustee member Mr. D.I McLeod purchased the letter directly from the addressee Mr. Ivor Brown, then donated the letter to Queen's University.
Scope and content
Letter dated Sept. 7, 1949,to Ivor Brown from Ayot Saint Lawrence. Relates to Brown's book on Shakespeare.
