Collins Bay

A view from the bay towards the bridge and mills. This view was taken after the new "pipe" bridge replaced the wooden one shown in the previous pictures.

Collins Bay

The dance hall, boat house and windmill belonging to Loyalist Lodge a tourist resort established just east of the mills. Behind can be seen the machine shop/wafting house for the rafting and dredging company. [Mr. Reid slept in the boat house one summer while working for the Clarks. there was a centre isle with three rooms on either side, but he was the only person sleeping there that summer. He also notes that there was a hall or a room that was used for a hall above the machine shop.

Collins Bay

Cutting ice on Collins Bay at the western edge of the village. Date is unknown but it must be after 1912 when the bleach house was added to the grist mill. This picture also shows the work shop/saw mill?, the carding mill and unidentified buildings on the left side of the picture. The stone carding mill was demolished in -- . [Mr. Reid- Second man from left is Sid Reid and man holding horse is Mr. George Clark. Building to the west is a house.]
