28th Annual Archives Lecture - "What's Special About Canadian Jewish History"

Main Speakers: Dr Gerald Tulchinsky. Paul Banfield talks about the origins of the Archive Lectures and introduces the guest speaker and topic. Dr Tulchinsky then gives a lecture on Canadian Jewish history, after which he answers questions from the audience for the last half hour of the video. Dr Gordon Dueck then thanks Dr Tulchinsky for speaking.

2010 Excellence in Research Public Lectures

Main Speakers: Roland Speicher, Philip G. Jessop. Speicher gives a lecture called "The Unreasonable Effectiveness of Mathematics" where he talks about the applications of pure mathematics in the real world. Jessop then gives a lecture called "Can Chemistry be Green?" where he explains the origins of green chemistry and the importance of reducing pollution while maintaining our economy.

1st MacClement Lecture - In Celebration of Dr David Suzuki

Main Speaker(s): Fraser Scott, Mindy Cook, Shelly Black, Gordon Heasley, Dan Fewings Bert Horwood. Location: McArthur Hall. Video is of a ceremony held to welcome Dr Suzuki to Queen's. Begins with a barbershop sextet singing several songs. Afterwards Scott introduces Dr Suzuki. Then Cook, Black, and Heasley each read an excerpt from one of his books. Next, Fewings reads poetry and and acts out two skits while dressed as a clown. Two men then sing while playing the guitar and bass. Afterwards Horwood talks about the ceremony, and calls on various people to read different things, including several excerpts of poetry and a letter from a facult member near Everest. To conclude the ceremony the guitarist and bassist from earlier play again, with the addition of Black.

1994-2004 Celebrating the Decade - Stauffer Library: Memories of the October 28, 1994 Dedication

Main Speaker(s): Alan Green, Dr William Leggett, Bob Rae, Paul Wiens. Location: Stauffer Library. Video is footage of the grand opening of Stauffer library. Green gives a speech after which he calls up Dr Leggett takes the podium who thanks everyone for their work and funding for the library. Rae then talks about the importance of the library to the public. Brief speeches are given by representatives from the Stauffer foundation and the National Library. Paul Wiens talks about the library from a librarian's perspective, while . Edith Wiens sings opera songs between a few of the speeches. John Meisel gives another speech, then Dick Stackhouse and David Barr assist Green with cutting the ribbon to open the library. Video ends with Edith Wiens singing several songs.

Main Speaker(s): Dr Nacy Olivieri. Dr Jackie Duffin talks about the Hannah Happenings, Dr Sandra Taylor introduces Dr Olivieri who speaks for the rest of the video. She answers questions for the last 12 minutes of the video, the last 8 minutes of the video are black screen.
