Photograph is a portrait of a young inuit boy, fully frontal. He looks directly at the viewer, with a slightly bored expression. His jacket is well worn animal skin, the hood appears to be fur lined. His hair is cut in the standard fashion (bowl cut), and he is beardless. All background has been blocked out on the glass plate negative by emulsion to give the illusion of a completely white background.

Photograph is of a older inuit woman with shoulder length hair, and a younger inuit girl, with short hair. Both are dressed in furs with wide hoods. They are shown from the front, 3/4 length. The older woman is positioned slightly in front of the younger, she is holding a sting looped around her thumb, with her left hand flat against her stomach. There is a plain band on her middle finger. Both subjects are looking at the viewer.

Photograph shows a baby wrapped in its carrying sac which is mounted on a board with a strap for easier carrying, proped against the exterior wall of a house. The child is central in the image, and turns away from the viewer, looking to the left, with arms clasped over the top of its carrier.
