"Grand" or "McLean Falls"

Image depicts what is now knowns as "Hamilton River", in Labrador. This is a photograph of a painting of a waterfall surrounded by trees, in a valley.

Group Portrait

Photograph shows three inuit women and one child standing in a row in front of a fence, with a smaller child sitting in the front (beside a pot with a lid on it). The standing child has a handkerchif covering her head, and the woman she stands next to has her fur linned hood up. Otherwise all heads are uncovered. They all wear fur snow-pants and animale skin jackets, with boots. The children wear fur mittens. The background shows a snow-scape.

HBC Out Post Buildings

Photograph depicts aproximatly eight out post buildings from the Hudson's Bay Company posting at Great Whale River. Most of the ground is covered with snow, as this image is seen from a distance, however, there is some visible bare ground closer to the buildings.

HBC Ship "Lady Head"

Photograph is of two ships at sea. One has been identified by the artist as the "Lady Head", which cesed operation in 1902. The Lady Head is placed centrally within the image, and to her right there is another, smaller schooner.

Huskies

Photograph shows six huskies of varying ages, some laying down, some standing, some in motion, outside a house. Taken close up. Foothills can be seen in the background on the right.

Huskies

Photograph is of two grown Huskies outside an outpost building. Beatuiful contrast of texture between fur, wood and long grass. The Huskies are in the foregroud sitting in the grass, with some visible buildings in the background. The lighter colored husky has bells on its colar.

Igloos and Dogs

Photograph shows two igloos, with several dogs asleep in the snow. There are various bits of sled equipment scattered throughout. Seven dogs in total, the snow has been trampled down by both human and dog.

Indian Baby

Photograph shows a baby wrapped in its carrying sac which is mounted on a board with a strap for easier carrying, proped against the exterior wall of a house. The child is central in the image, and turns away from the viewer, looking to the left, with arms clasped over the top of its carrier.

Indian Man, Woman, and Child

Photograph shows a child bundled into a blanket with a handkerchief covering her hair in the foreground. A woman in a heavy dress with a shawl over her shoulders in the middle ground. And a man with a broad-brimmed hat in the background. They are seated in a field with a wooden fence behind them. The group is against a small fir tree, perhaps for height comparison. All three figures look toward the viewer.

Inuit Child

Photograph is a portrait of a young inuit boy, fully frontal. He looks directly at the viewer, with a slightly bored expression. His jacket is well worn animal skin, the hood appears to be fur lined. His hair is cut in the standard fashion (bowl cut), and he is beardless. All background has been blocked out on the glass plate negative by emulsion to give the illusion of a completely white background.
