Fox in Trap

Photograph is similar to L-3; there is a centrally placed fox caught in a fur trader's trap. It looks toward the viewer. The fox is in a setting of snow and fir trees.

Out Post Building

Photograph depicts two men, sitting in an open door way in a wooden gate, surrounding an out post building. The opening is centrally located, with an expance of gate on either side. The man on the left wears a hat, the man on the right does not. Through the open door, the viewer may see part of an out post building.

Church at Moose Factory

Photograph is of a church seen behind a fence, in the middle of farm land at Moose Factory. The church is on the left of the image, while there are various fields with cows, and other buildings scattered throughout this image.

Sailing Ship at Anchor

Photograph depicts a very large sailing ship, with three masts and one funnel. This ship is centrally located. It is thought to be the HBC ship the "Discovery".

HBC Out Post Buildings

Photograph depicts aproximatly eight out post buildings from the Hudson's Bay Company posting at Great Whale River. Most of the ground is covered with snow, as this image is seen from a distance, however, there is some visible bare ground closer to the buildings.

Travel Fed Dogs

Writing on the back of the photograph as follows "A mild day west when traveling in Hudson Bay- Photo by Bert Chesterfield". Image depicts three men and four dogs who are harnessed to a dog sled. The three men stand in the background, none of them look at the viewer, the dogs are all in the foreground, some are laying down, some are in motion. The dog sled provides a solid divide in the middle ground.

Northern Life

The album contains images of Cree and Inuit communities around Hudson Bay and James Bay, including portraits and scenes of traditional ways of life. Some images are shown with canoes, or cooking, or in front of tepees and igloos. Several of the portraits depict a single sitter in front of a white background.
