Item is an 8x10 glossy print. Note 1: Transport-The Soo Canal: This is good except that the picture is of the American locks. Could we get one of the Canadian Locks? Also of the old N-W lock there, now in possession of Abitibi Power & Paper (and no doubt the favourinte subject of local postcards.) Note 2: Great Lakes Shipping-The Great Lakes Waterways, more than 2,000 miles of lakes, canals and rivers, links the mid West cities of Canada and the U.S.A. with Eastern ports, where cargoes are relayed abroad. The locks at Sault Ste. Marie between Lake Superior and Lake Superior and Lake Huron form one of the most vital link in this chain of shipping lanes, and are among the busiest in the world. Giant Great Lakes freighters, both east and west bound, pass in the locks at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. Please credit: National Film Board Photograph
