The fonds consists of photocopies of correspondence relating primarily to analyses of events in Canada. Includes letters from W.L. Mackenzie King and Robert L. Borden.
Collection consists of documents acquired and assembled by Mildred Livingston in documenting her family genealogy and research interest in United Empire Loyalists. Includes records pertaining to the Livingston, Judson, Phelps and Mallory families among others and largely comprised of land records such as mortgages, deeds, grants with a small amount of correspondence, invoices, ledgers, etc. Also included are Mildred Livingston's research notes on various lineages.
The collection is comprised of sixty letters written during the years of 1843 to 1872 to George Copeman in England.Fifty-three are original letters, four are copies of the originals which are housed in the Dr. Albert E Senkler, (EJS’s son) collection at the Minnesota Historical Museum in St Paul, and three that were transcribed by hand by his grandson Edmund J Reynolds ( EJR) but the whereabouts of the originals is no longer known.
Transcriptions of the original letters are also available and appear to have been transcribed by EJR, perhaps in the 1920s.
Using historical documents, interviews and personal genealogies, Shernold Edwards examines the history of Black Canadians in Kingston from both an historical perspective as well as the contemporary reality of being a student at Queen's University. Includes interviews with local Kingston residents, the Mason family, the Batchelor family, Rudy Cox, Judi Brown and Rick Neilson. The fonds consists of correspondence relating to his resignation from the leadership of the New Democratic Party in 1970, his resignation from the Legislature in 1982 and the Ontario New Democratic Party Hydro Task Force. The research notes, which were used for the preparation of his newspaper articles (1982-1987) contain material on many of the most important issues in Ontario politics during this period. The files on hydro illustrate the numerous problems (environmental, economic and technical) encountered by the province during the first half of the 1980's. The files of writings contain an extensive collection of his newspaper articles and book reviews written from 1977 to 1989. The fonds also includes an instructional video, produced by the [Ontario] Legislative Assembly Broadcast and Recording Service, and hosted by Donald C. MacDonald, entitled 'The Ontario Elections Finances Act: An Introduction', (April 1987).
This album holds the name plate of Charles L. Worsley but documents the life of George Stanley Worsley. Includes hunting and fishing photographs (staged, purchased, spontaneous) from big game hunting predominantly in India with some North American hunting scenes. There are also a number of purchased tourist photographs from Cairo, Malta and Aden intermingled with various Canadian locales - Edmonton, NWT, Halifax, all places that G.S. Worsley served. Also includes some family portraits including Violet A. Worsley.
