Sous-fonds consists predominantly of correspondence to Katherine Hale and John Garvin from 1911-1959. The letters are arranged alphabetically by correspondent and include such notable names as: Audrey Alexander Brown, Bliss Carman, Mazo de la Roche, Pauline Johnson, Peter McArthur, Nellie McClung, Tom MacInnes, Vincent Murney, Isabella Valancy Crawford, Charles Mair, L.M. Montgomery, Sir Gilbert Goldwin Smith and Sir John William. Also included are various typescripts and galleys for books written or edited by Hale and Garvin, as well as various typescripts from other authors collected by the couple.

Sous-fonds consists of correspondence, legal documents and financial records. The trust was established on the marriage of Jane Catherine Herchmer to John McPherson in 1838 and endured until McPherson's death in 1903.

Correspondence, prose and bibliography of material in the Rufus Hathaway collection of Canadian literature in the University of New Brunswick Library. The correspondence consists mainly of typed transcripts of letters concerning Bliss Carman.

Robert McIntyre estate sous-fonds

The sous-fonds is comprised of correspondence arranged alphabetically by correspondent, primarily consisting of letters received, including letters from: Commission merchants in Montreal handling butter and wool on consignment, e.g. Ayer & Beattie, J. H. Mooney and J. & W. Gunn. A number of letters are fom Prince Edward County from David Smart, prominent lawyer, friend and brother-in-law. There are also a number of papers dealing with the running of McIntyre's business, including accounts and receipts from suppliers including such firms as: Haldimand Distillery; Frontenac and Portsmouth Breweries; Commerical Mills Distillery; Converse, Colson and Lamb; Drennan's Penitentiary Cabinet Warehouse; R. M. Horsey; Otto Kapp & Co.; and Western Tray Company. There are also business records, accounts, receipts and some material relating to lawsuits and of a personal nature. There is also a small amount of material pertaining to customer's accounts and 4 letters of a personal nature from family members.

The sous-fonds consists of correspondence, legal and business papers including documents relating to land lots in the Townships of Ernestown, Camden and Hungerford. The papers have been arranged into the following series: Documents relating to Land Lots, 1840-1872; Papers concerning Insurance of Township Properties, 1850-1874; Papers relating to Storrington House, 1858-1862; Legal Papers and Litigation, 18 42-1860 - including suits against George Mink with related correspondence; Estate, Legal and Business Papers, 1829-1877; Correspondence, 1845-1875 - of particular note is a petition from Sarah Sproul to Viscount Monk regarding her son John who had joined the U.S. Calvary without her knowledge or consent; and Miscellaneous Papers, 1879-1901.
