The sous-fonds consists of correspondence and legal documents relating to Alexander Macdonnell's estate. Includes an inventory of his estate and a memorandum relating to lots for the Roman Catholic seminary.

Browne and Harty estate sous-fonds

The sous-fonds was comprised of documents brought together as a result of the law suit of Browne v. Dollard in Chancery, 1872, which involved the winding up of the partnership. Included are business papers, business correspondence regarding land lots, and a number of land documents involving various land lots in the Kingston area.

Horace Yeomans estate sous-fonds

The sous-fonds consists of business papers, and those other papers connected with the settling of Yeoman's estate. There is little of a personal or even professional nature in this material. The records have been arranged chronologically within the following record groupings: correspondence; bills and receipts; promissory notes; payment notes; assessment notices; accounts; legal papers; land papers; estate papers; and, miscellaneous records. Of particular note is a letter written on November 8, 1844 concerning Dr. Horace Yeomans and signed by Thomas Kirkpatrick and John A. Macdonald.

John Shiels estate sous-fonds

The sous-fonds consists of business correspondence received, printed ads, and price lists. There are also suppliers and customer's accounts, receipts, shipping advices, bills of lading, and remittance records. Of particular note is a patent for 'Shiels' improved lamp chimney and burner', no.312, registered March 22, 1870. There is also a small amount of material that pertains to Shiels' personal life, i.e. correspondence and receipts for household items, and the schooling of his children.

William Robert Sanders estate sous-fonds

The sous-fonds consists of correspondence and account books. The correspondence is arranged chronologically, and due to the fact that the Kirkpatrick and Sanders families were friends, is both personal and of a legal nature.The correspondence covers comment and opinion on such topics as the Crimean War, the American Civil War and the social and economic situation in rural Ireland. Also included are three account books of William's that were sent to the Kirkpatricks to help explain the estate transactions.

Robert McIntyre estate sous-fonds

The sous-fonds is comprised of correspondence arranged alphabetically by correspondent, primarily consisting of letters received, including letters from: Commission merchants in Montreal handling butter and wool on consignment, e.g. Ayer & Beattie, J. H. Mooney and J. & W. Gunn. A number of letters are fom Prince Edward County from David Smart, prominent lawyer, friend and brother-in-law. There are also a number of papers dealing with the running of McIntyre's business, including accounts and receipts from suppliers including such firms as: Haldimand Distillery; Frontenac and Portsmouth Breweries; Commerical Mills Distillery; Converse, Colson and Lamb; Drennan's Penitentiary Cabinet Warehouse; R. M. Horsey; Otto Kapp & Co.; and Western Tray Company. There are also business records, accounts, receipts and some material relating to lawsuits and of a personal nature. There is also a small amount of material pertaining to customer's accounts and 4 letters of a personal nature from family members.

Diary of clerk in charge of Hudson's Bay Post at Fort Resolution, Great Slave Lake. Bound hand written diary of Thomas Swanston, Hudson's Bay Company clerk in charge of Fort Resolution N.W.T.-Letter (November 12th, 1935) from Hudson's Bay Company London office secretary confirming to I.MC. Thompson of Toronto that Mr. Swanston was in charge of Fort Resolution from 1868-1871-Typed letter (July 24th, 1936) to Dr. Lorne Pierce from a former editor of the Topographical Survey of Canada, from whom the diary was acquired, outlining the author's recollection of Mr. Swanston and his home life. Author's name is not clearly legible but presumed to be I.M.C. Thompson from previous letter.-Typed summary of information regarding Thomas Swanston from the Hudson's Bay Company Archives London-Letter (March 9th, 1964) from John S. Nicks, archival assistant at the Saskatchewan Archives Office at the University of Saskachewan, to Mr. E.C.
