Warren Hastings Esqr.

Item is an electro-steel engraving of Warren Hastings, born 1732 and died 1818, English statesman, who was the first Governor of the Presidency of Fort William (Bengal), the head of the Supreme Council of Bengal, and thereby the first de facto Governor-General of India from 1772 to 1785. Engraved by Conde, after a bust by Mr. Banks in the possession of William Seward, Esq. Published as the Act directs for the proprietors of J. Good (Bend Street).

Item is an illustrated portrait of Prince Frederick, Duke of York and Albany (b.August 16, 1763-5, d.January 1827). Around the oval portrait the insignia of the House of Hanover. Valenciennes (city in North France) was besieged by the First Coalition against Revolutionary France in 1793. The city was captured, plundered and occupied in July 1793 by Anglo-Austrian forces under Prince Frederick and the Prince of Saxe-Coburg. Painted by J. Bogle. Engraved by L. Schiavonetti. Published acco. to Act August the 10. 1793 by Colnaghe & Co.
