This sous-fonds is comprised of correspondence and papers relating to personal business, including real estate holdings in Kingston, Napanee, Wakefield and elsewhere. The real estate holdings in Kingston include 20 Emily Street, 165-167 King Street, 270 Division Street, and properties on Princess and Montreal Streets. There are many examples of documents pertaining to the handling of estates such as wills, contracts, and Powers of Attorney. There is also information about stocks and investments in such companies as the British North American Investment Company, the London and Westminister Investment Company of Canada, and records about investing in various gold mining operations such as Canada Gold Fields Syndicate, Deer Trail, Monte Cristo and the Republic Consolidate Gold Mining Company. The material has been arranged chronologically.

Thomas Robinson Dupuis estate sous-fonds

The sous-fonds is comprised of estate papers for both Thomas and Elizabeth Dupuis of Kingston and cover the period of 1886 to 1906. There is a small amount of material pertaining to Charles Bunker Dupuis, the son of Elizabeth and Thomas, who was killed in a train accident while attending the University of Toronto as a law student. The sous-fonds predominantly consists of correspondence, legal documents, financial records and documents relating to various pieces of property. Of particular interest is the file of material pertaining to Anne Jane Crawford, her estate and her condition, defined as "acute melancholia".

The correspondence is arranged chronologically, and due to the fact that the Kirkpatrick and Sanders families were friends, is both personal and of a legal nature.The correspondence covers comment and opinion on such topics as the Crimean War, the American Civil War and the social and economic situation in rural Ireland. Also included are three account books of William's that were sent to the Kirkpatricks to help explain the estate transactions.
