The fonds consists of correspondence and a diary (1862) written by James Thomson, as well as genealogical notes on the Thomson family. The correspondence includes letters he wrote to his father, mother and sister in Scotland, and later to his wife in Edwardsburgh. Also includes an obituary notice of his son's (1949).

The collection consists of letters to Quetton St. George circa 1810. Hugh was a clerk in the general store of Laurent Quetton St George in York in 1807 and soon assumed responsibility for the Niagara branch of the business. In 1810, he was transferred to Kingston. The letters are of a business nature.

Also included is an Indenture between Benjamin Tett and O'Hare. The papers record the affairs of Benjamin Tett and his sons, John Poole Tett and Benjamin Tett, Junior and grandson Edmmund J. Tett.

Taylor; letters of correspondence between W.E. McNeill, a former colleague of Taylor's at Queen's; Christmas card from Mr. and Mrs. R.B. Taylor to the student body dated 1922-1923; letter from W.L. Mackenzie King dated October 7th, 1919 regarding the potential problem of acting as a Harvard representative at Queen's while being awarded an honorary LL.D. degree from Queen's; booklet commemorating the festivities put on by the Rocky Mountain Club for Theodore Roosevelt's birthday dated October 27th, 1919. Also includes a bound photocopy of Taylor's unpublished memoir.
