The fonds consists of correspondence, memoranda, minutes, publications, and scrapbook that well documents the lifespan and workings of the CIC. The papers of the Committee for an Independent Canada (CIC) consist of correspondence, policy papers, speeches, photographs and other organizational related material. For the most part the collection consists of the files of the CIC's national offices in Toronto and Ottawa. It is important to keep in mind when approaching the collection that the CIC was not a traditional hierarchical organization. The CIC was a series of efforts by various individuals and groups of people under the collective banner of a Committee for an Independent Canada. Since the national office partially functioned as a clearing house for the CIC's diverse, and national activities, the files within the collection give an excellent cross section of those activities. The CIC collection is divided into four series: National Office Correspondence and Subject files; John Trent Correspondence and Subject files; Alpha-numeric files; and Audio and Visual materials. There is also a documentary film featuring the CIC's first national conference, which largely concerns the intent and ideals of the organization, and a three-hour tape recording of a National Unity Project Steering Committee Meeting on November 5, 1976.
The fonds consists of correspondence, legal records, scrapbooks and photographs. These papers illustrate mainly Dr. Morse's editorship of the Canadian Bar Review. There are a few personal papers: financial records and scrapbooks.
The fonds consists of the records created and held by the Synod of the Presbyterian Church in Canada in Connection with the Church of Scotland. It includes correspondence; memoranda; addresses to the King or Queen, Lieutenant-Governor of Governor-General; synod rolls; legal documents; memorials; overtures; petitions, including the 10 July 1844, 'Dissent and Protest of Mr. Bayne and Others'; resolutions; motions and minutes; reports; financial Records; statistics. A considerable portion of the papers documents the close connection of the church with the growth and development of Queen's College. There is also considerable material relating to the union of the various branches of the Presbyterian Church which took place in 1875.
Item is a typewritten copy of a letter sent to G.Y. Chown, Secretary of the Queen's University Board of Trustees, from A.L. Clark relating to the encroachment of applied science on pure science.
Collection consists of steam packet announcements (newpaper clippings, 1833), a payroll sheet for the Nova Scotia Railway (1859), published memos on the CPR and the laying of the Atlantic telegraph cable, and a published train itinerary for the visit of the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and York (1901).
Fonds consists of programmes of various regattas and championships held by a number of canoe clubs under the auspices of the Canadian Canoe Association; correspondence, minutes, technical reports and bulletins, and clippings relating to the canoe events at the 1960 Rome Olympics.
