The collection consists of research files; correspondence; subject files; reports including Annual Reports; newsletters and other printed material; records relating to former employees; donations to David Young's research from other individuals; photographs; moving image, and sound recordings; cartoons (some autographed), by some well known cartoonists, such as Andy Donato of the "Toronto Sun" and xxx, and given to David Young during his time as editor of "Research Quarterly", the technical publication of the Research Division of Ontario Hydro; and David Young's extensive 1,275 page manuscript entitled "Dobson Chronicle: A History of Ontario Hydro's Research Laboratories, 1912-1994."
Fonds consists of correspondence, photographs, subject files, Arts and Culture files, audio and video tapes, sketches; architectural drawings; and the diary of Reva Brooks, which give an idea of the richness and active nature of their lives. The correspondence covers several continents geographically, and several decades of time. Topics range widely, and include numerous references to North American and Mexican arts and culture. Photographs of Leonard Brooks World War II art are included.
The fonds consists of a journal listing deaths in Kingston, Sydenham, Loughborough Township and Cataraqui, frequently listing the age and cause of death. The journal was also used as a scrapbook, and contains some ledger entries. Also included are a flyer advertising Forepaugh's Circus visit to Kingston on July 9, 1880, a postcard, letter, invoice, two envelopes and two cut ledger pages.
Fonds consists of ledgers, journals, lumber records, letter books, correspondence, contracts and agreements and miscellaneous material relating to the timber-making, rafting, forwarding, shipbuilding, towing and salvaging of the Calvin Company. There is also a collection of photographs relating to both family and business.
