The fonds consists of books used in part by Fairfield family for account books : James Macfarlane and Company account and letterbook of Kingston Chronicle, 1832-1834; Cataraqui Bridge Company letterbook, 1827-1830; daybook for cut stone business, 1889; bank book of Herman Fairfield with Merchants' Bank of Canada, 1869.
This collection consists of James A. Eadie's entry in the 'Dictionary of Canadian Biography' on John Stevenson; articles relating to the Rathbun Company, Deseronto, Ontario; essays on Deseronto and the Rathbun Company, written by T.David Martin; slides of Rathbun family portraits, company building and employees with explanatory notes; essay by W.C. Blabe on Deseronto.
The collection consists of transcriptions of meeting minutes of the shareholders and annual reports of the Canadian Land and Emigration Company, 1862-1881, as well as transciptions of Directors of the CLE Company from 1868 to 1881. Also includes a 'Diary of general chit-chat and the farm commencing Oct. 1, 1870' and almanacs for 1865 and 1866.
Letterbook relates to the day-to-day work of the society. The letterbook was kept by Rev. Kenneth M. Fenwick who was secretary of the society at the time.
