File consists of both booklets and loose leaf pages with sermons written on them, as well as a letter to the Presbyterian Church of Canada asking to help fund the expansion of Queen's, a telegram, and a small bound journal, with "Natural and Revealed Theory" written on the cover, containing what appear to be bible study questions and answers, as well as hand written copies of other works of theology.

Although not documenting William's many careers as butcher, alderman, contractor or family man, the financial papers reflect his affairs in connection with his properties, his debtors, his stocks, his estate and the estate of his second wife, Amelia.
