He was the second to circumnavigate the world in a single expedition from 1577 to 1580. He was kighted by Elizabeth I in 1581. Engraved by S. Freeman from the original in the collection of the Most Noble the Marquis of Lothian. Printed by Harding & Lepard (Pall Mall East, London).
