This fonds consists of correspondence (1952-2005); editorials in British papers (1946-1950) and the 'Winnipeg Free Press' (1950-1960); subject files relating to his time as advisor to the Liberal Party and Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson; notes on the development of social policy and the Canada Pension Plan; papers and lectures written by Kent; published articles and volumes; presentations to parliamentary committees; files relating to the Royal Commission on Newspapers (1980-1981); honours and awards.
The fonds consists of material predominantly from the period 1960-2000. They are a record of Dr. Angus' many and varied interests over the years and include her work as a playwrite, historian, architectural preservationist and genealogist. Apart from the genealogical material there are no personal papers here. Included with this fonds is a very nearly complete set of the minutes of Kingston LACAC meetings as well as the records of many other committees that Dr. Angus served on over the years. There are scripts of the many drama productions, particularly radio plays, that she wrote and worked on, records of special events and particularly the various heritage projects she was involved with along with subject files and genealogical files that she used to support her work. Many of these files contain photographs. There is also a large series of photographs, particularly slides, of historic buildings. While these photographs are of buildings in many parts of Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom, the vast majority of them are of Kingston buildings and scenes.

The fonds consists of stage directions for productions of plays performed by the Faculty Players and Domino Theatre. Also includes news clippings, programmes, and correspondence for Faculty Players.
Scrapbook of clippings pertaining predominantly to social mores, habits and customs. The earliest items seem to date from 1801, with the latest being 1839. There seems to be a focus on material of Irish interest, also many clippings pertaining to Lord Byron and Napoleon. There is no indication as to who collected this material, or who wrote the poetry, reflections or copied letters. Many different hands appear in the book. Of particular note are Garrison Orders for Fort St. George in response to the incidents at Vellore in 1806.
The collection consists of pictures taken by an unknown photographer, or photographers, in Kingston and the surrounding area, around the turn of the twentieth century. The photos show local landmarks such as Kingston City Hall, Kingston homes, Kingston Mills, Martello Towers and Jones Falls. Also included are photographs of the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery, men, horses and guns. Steam vessels such as the Rideau Queen, the Toronto and even pleasure sail boats, ice boats and quite a number of pictures of canoes and canoeists are included along with pictures taken at or near the Kingston Yacht Club. There are many pictures of as yet unidentified individuals in various poses including family scenes, picnics and fishermen. Another sizable lot of pictures were taken away from Kingston at various sites that have yet to be identified. One series were shot in what looks like a summer resort area and several others are of cities or a city yet to be identified.

Included are submissions and related files for Quarry Magazine, Canadian Fiction Magazine and Poetry Canada, as well as manuscripts, notes, photographs and edited copies for other publications by Quarry. The fonds also contains some research notes and photographs for each of the books published by Quarry. The manuscripts include original typescripts, edits, galley proofs and finished publications. The fonds consists of correspondence, minutes, typescripts of books, essays, galley proofs, news clippings, broadcast scripts, subject files, lectures, photographs and sound recordings. Dr. Whalley is the author of several books and many essays and articles. Most are represented here by working drafts, final copies and many by the final published version. Correspondence dealing with each topic and publication is also included. Another aspect of Dr. Whalley's career, broadcasting, is well represented in the papers. Dr. Whalley authored many scripts for radio and television. Drafts of scripts, revisions and correspondence with producers follow each work through from inception to reviews. There is also documentation of the 1939 Cambridge polar expedition as well as some personal material documenting Whalley's relationship with his family.
