This series is comprised of the published projects produced by Harvest House. Each project contains similar material and often includes all or some of the following: author correspondence, contracts, printing details, editorial comment, manuscripts, galleys, page proofs, promotional material, launch details, review copies and reviews and any reprint information. Many of the projectswere part of publishing series which Harvest House promoted. The two most consistent series were the French Writers of Canada (FWC) and the Environment series (ES). In the files pertaining to projects that were part of the French Writers of Canada series there is also correspondence and contracts with translators. The projects are identified with which series they were part of and have been arranged chronologically.
This series contains correspondence, manuscripts, and administrative project files pertaining to manuscripts which were ultimately never published by Harvest House but at some point had been offered, entertained or pursued. A significant portion of the volume of this series is comprised of projects which were undertaken with the intention to publish but were eventually dropped or withdrawn from the publication schedule for a variety of reasons, such as disputes with the author or funding issues. Some of these projects went on to be published with other small presses. The series provides a reflection on the values of the press, giving insight to the types of materials the publisher felt was not within his purview or area of expertise.
This series reflects activities of the publishing house which were not exclusive to individual books or authors although there is some obvious overlap in terms of correspondents and subject matter with some of the files in other series. This series is arranged alphabetically along broad subject lines such as advertising, financial matters and royalties, promotion, correspondence and carry forward files maintained by the office. Also reflected is the relationship of the press with their distributors and with the larger publishing community through their participation in the Independant Publishers Association, the Canadian Book Publishers Council, the Association of Canadian Publishers and the Montreal Book Publishers Roundtable. Of particular note is the administrative files pertaining to the French Writers of Canada series which was produced by Harvest House.
