Item is a photo album with numerous b&w photographs attached inside. About halfway through the album, there begins multiple pages of photographs around Queen's University: of students and buildings etc. It can be surmised that this photo album belonged to a female student from the graduating class around 1945, as there are faint dates written in pencil on some of the pages.

Brief article discussing Magdeleine de Vercheres and the dedication of a monument in her name on the banks for the St. Lawrence.-Includes hand written and typed draft-Name else where documented as Marie-Madeleine de Verchères. The date cited in the article appears to be inaccurate. Outside information indicates that the attack for which she is recognised, occurred in 1692, not 1696 as stated in the article.

The collection was brought together from several family branches related to the Griers, particularly from that of the Cartwright family branch. The collection is comprised of additional material from the Addison, Butler, Farrell-Purnell, Matheson, Stevenson, Stewart,and Dobbs families. Included in the collection are correspondence, journals, photographs, accounts and mementos of Brigadier-General George Strachan Cartwright, as well as photographs and a commonplace book of Anne Leman Purnell and Harriet Dobbs Cartwright. Among the photographs are images of Aden, Yemen, Delhi, India and Niagara Falls from the 1890s.
