The collection consists of minute books, membership rosters, treasurer's books, and certifcates of degrees awarded in the Lodges. Includes records from Loyal Orange Lodges No. 6, No. 481, No. 577, and No. 2659.
Fonds consists of correspondence, manuscripts, diaries, speeches, lectures, research notes, writings, published works, subject files, photographs and material related to organizations to which Lower belonged. Literary files from the Executors of the estate of A.R.M. Lower which include unpublished articles. Also included is an audio tape recorded in Kingston, Ont., April 13, 1971 which is a discussion of recent Canadian history, as well as Dr. Lower's views as expressed in the book Canadians in the Making. Dr. Lower also answers various questions concerning his philosophy of history as it relates to his philosophy of life.
Scrapbook of clippings pertaining predominantly to social mores, habits and customs. The earliest items seem to date from 1801, with the latest being 1839. There seems to be a focus on material of Irish interest, also many clippings pertaining to Lord Byron and Napoleon. There is no indication as to who collected this material, or who wrote the poetry, reflections or copied letters. Many different hands appear in the book. Of particular note are Garrison Orders for Fort St. George in response to the incidents at Vellore in 1806.
