Item is an window-matted,electro-steel engraved top-half portrait of the historian Agnes Strickland (b.1806-d.1874). Engraved byF. L. Lewes England "to his Queen" from a painting by J.Hayes on June 1846 and published by Henry Colburn,London 1848. Below the image is a window-mounted reciept with a stampfor three pence signed by the subject and dated 1845. the bottom corners of the portrait are unattached.
