Health Encounter Card Pilot Project - School of Public Administration, Christel Woodward PhD and Lynn Curry PhD

Main Speaker(s): Christel Woodward, Lyn Curry. Location: Lecture hall. Video is a presentation of a project by the Ministry of Health. They propose a 'smart' health card which contains a microscopic chip as a personal, portable health record of the carrier. Video begins with Woodward describing the feasability of the proposed project. Afterwards Curry goes further in-depth into the features of the card, as well as her evaluation of the card.

1st MacClement Lecture - In Celebration of Dr David Suzuki

Main Speaker(s): Fraser Scott, Mindy Cook, Shelly Black, Gordon Heasley, Dan Fewings Bert Horwood. Location: McArthur Hall. Video is of a ceremony held to welcome Dr Suzuki to Queen's. Begins with a barbershop sextet singing several songs. Afterwards Scott introduces Dr Suzuki. Then Cook, Black, and Heasley each read an excerpt from one of his books. Next, Fewings reads poetry and and acts out two skits while dressed as a clown. Two men then sing while playing the guitar and bass. Afterwards Horwood talks about the ceremony, and calls on various people to read different things, including several excerpts of poetry and a letter from a facult member near Everest. To conclude the ceremony the guitarist and bassist from earlier play again, with the addition of Black.

Child Development Centre, Hotel Dieu Hospital

Location: Hotel Dieu Hospital. Edited video with a voiceover showcasing Hotel Dieu Hospital's Child Development Centre, a centre which aims to assist the development of children with various different kinds of learning and motor disabilities. The centre also assists the families with raising their children, by providing them with experts and important information regarding how to raise the children. The centre also helps train Queen's students in rehabilitation therapy, physiology, and psychology.
