Item is a photoprint of a sketch of Grass House, four miles from Kingston, U.C. on shore of Lake Ontario. Built 1783-1874 by Captain Michael Grass who commanded a band of U.E. Loyalists from New York after the Revolutionary War.

Single family brick home with a very elaborate veranda with balustrade above that runs three quarters of the way around the house. Two women are sitting in a two-wheeled buggy in the foreground. Possibly the former home of Liberal MP Alexander Gunn who had a residence at Johnson and Clergy (south west corner). The house was later used as a Women’s College and then for a long time as the YWCA.
