Loose front and back cover sheets

Loose front cover reads: "International Correspondence Schools Instruction Paper with Examination Questions: Masonry", Part 1, third edition, by the International Textbook Company. Two loose back covers outline the same recommended supplies list for students.

Holiday Greeting Card

Front of card reads "For Auld Lanc Sync". Inside reads "I will keep thee in my book of memory".

Postcard from Ohio

Picture is a bird's eye view of Patinbay, Ohio. Painting of what looks like a small town or village. Canadian postage. On the back, handwritten with pencil that is now faded. Reads: "This is a lonely place to work… Friday afternoons…". On the actual card there is a small hole that goes through the card, and it seems to have had a dark colored liquid spilled onto it and staining it.

"Sid Parkins Wholesale and Retail Fish Merchant" notepad scrap

Note pad paper ripped on top edges, frayed corners, black smudges. Letter head reads: "If it swims I sell it… Sid Perkins Wholesale and Retail Fish Merchant. No extra charge for cleaning". Written in handwriting: "Dear Sir, The bitch had two food servings... I will ship her back to... I see she has a little canker... That's why she drops it... a few Drops (warmed olive oil in a spoon) gently and a little Barasic powder. Find bitter." Bottom has scribbled names, "Champion", "Gladiator", "Champion Midlord".

Correspondence from Department of Lands and Forests

File no. DR 5244. Addressed to "Mr. W.H. Hutchison". Reads: "Sir, Your recent letter in request of permission to erect a boat house on Rideau Canal has been received. If you will send in a description of the lot, or part lot, concession and township in front of which you desire to erect the boat house, you will be further advised." Signed, "Your obedient servant, W.C. Cain".

Paul he says it belongs to the government and Huntback tried to claim it as well. I forbid him cutting any on it... you had a better get busy about it he said he would see about it but you can do it yourself and cannot tell you... on dog lake name (Rabbit no need to not tell you this as well a great talker attend but doesn't... from high water mark he will you cannot cut timber only for building purposes... Jamieson he would attend to that matter about Grandpa certificate now and I will too as soon I can. All well, God Bye..."

Personal letter from Batterson

Handwritten. Reads "Mr. WH Hutchison I got your letter… found 3 men wanting to claim it… Williams and Hunt back but Hunt back gave in and if it belong to him he didn't want it so I got it and sent it to you. There is no… to you hope everything is satisfactory. We are all well hope to find you the same. Yours, WH Jamason". At the bottom, handwriting reads: "I don't think any of the claims is any good but yours".

Personal letter

Handwritten letter, bottom half ripped off. Addressed to a WH Hutchison in South Oshawa ON. Reads: "Dear Sir, You will find enclosed the reference you asked for. I could have got a great many more just as good but I think these should satisfy anyone. Also you will find enclosed papers of the pups advertised. "Bristles" should be in season in 1 or 2 months. All I know about her breeding is what Mr Hardesly told me as I have not had her long. He recommended her to be an excellent producer. When I brought her I intended to keep her but I have picked up some that I ran across near home and as she was the best chance at a quick sale I am selling her for the reason stated before and as I may be called for the military service. I you want this bitch you will have to buy her at once... someone will do so soon... I don't know any dog just now of strong Clan. Monarch breeding. As to judge Dexter I wouldn't breed to him if I was wanting extra good coats or color as he was a rather light dog in color and coat I think rather loose. This bitch pup I have is about as good coated and colored as any I even saw had slightly crinkly coat and deep rich tan and back almost solid black a real black has a new grizzly hairs but not noticeable except when very close at a short distance she looks as black as black as coal. If you want color and generally good coats I don't know of any better than that of the German Champions Ch. Nickery Simpson (grand sire of my pups) and Emperor is grand sire Ch. His Highness. I guess His Highness is just about the best out in this response. Rex Persattum is also pretty good. If you want this bitch pup and Bristles I will let you have the two for $60.00 and they're more than reasonable as that. Dogs are real Airedales and real terriers..." Rest is cut off.
