Typescript of letter relating to political affairs, a duel and court cases in the York (Toronto) area, with comments on the imminent war with the United States (War of 1812-14). Original at the Ontario Provincial Archives.

Fonds consists of correspondence, articles, memoranda, reports relating to his career at Queen's, the Royal Commission on Price Spreads, the Canadian National Railway, housing, economics, planning and municipal politics.

Collections consists of Memorial Books relating to both Lorne and Edith Pierce; travel diaries; photographs; and a copy of Edith Chown Pierce's, "Canadian Glass: A Footnote to History". Nearly every Canadian literary figure of note for the period 1920 to 1960 is representedby at least some manuscript material in this collection. Among its many highlights the collection includes the letters and manuscripts of William Wilfred Campbell; Desertion in Canada by Major John Richardson; the original manuscript of William Kirby's novel, The Golden dog; manuscripts written and decorated by Wilson Macdonald; letters, manuscripts and memorabilia of Sir Charles G. D. Roberts; and the Marjorie Pickthall papers which include her diaries, letters manuscripts and sketches. Also represented are Raymond Knister, Duncan Campbell Scott, Archibald Lampman, Camille Roy, Stephen Leacock, Marius Barbeau,Audrey Alexandra Brown, Earle Birney, Katherine Hale, A. J. Pratt and Al Purdy. Some papers of artists J.E. H. Macdonald, A. Y. Jackson, C.W. Jefferys and Thoreau Macdonald are included in this collection.

The fonds consists of correspondence, legal documents and military records relating to Clark's life as a soldier in Dundas County. The material covers the period from 1813 to 1848 and includes material relating to the Battle of the Windmill. The military records include muster rolls, various returns and general orders of the Dundas Militia.

This copy of a letter was written to her daughter Elizabeth on the occasion of her marriage to Colonel Colley Lyons Lucas Foster (1778-1843) on June 24, 1813 at Quebec, Canada. The intention of the letter is to offer advice to her daughter on the obligations and duties of a wife and mother.

The diary covers the Battle of Plattsburgh, as well as battles in the Spanish Penninsula towards the end of the Penninsular Wars. Includes a photocopy of the diary, typed transcript and related articles.
