Z. Taylor

Item is an decorated oval electro-steel engraved portrait of Zachary Taylor, the 12th president of the United States, 1849-50 (b.1784-d.1850). On top of the portrait is a repsentation of Taylor's hmilitary hat, saber and gloves over a book and some paper. BElow the iage is a repsentation of a battelfield scene with "Okee-cho-hee Decr. 25th, 1837 below it identifing the battle. The engraving is by T. W. Hunt from a Drawing by Brady.

Item is an electro-steel engraved image of Thomas Clarkson, born 1760 - died 1846, English abolitionist and lead campaigner against the slave-trade in the British Empire. He helped found the Society for Effecting the Abolition of the Slave Trade and helped pass the Slave Trade Act of 1807, which ended the British slave trade. Engraved by J. Cochran from a painting by S. Lane. Published by Fisher, Son & Co. (London & Paris).

Item is an electro-steel engraved image of Julien Xavier Chabert, born 1792 - died 1859, French-US magician who performed feats of daring, skill, and deception using fire. He performed in France and London before moving to the United States to work as a pharmacist. In 1836 he was celebrated as a chemist and physician for aiding in the New York cholera outbreak of 1832-1834.
