The fonds consists of minute books of the Board of Inspectors, daily journal of the warden, correspondence, accounts and receipts for labour of convicts in the penitentiary, punishment record books; hospital records; daily reports; liberation question books; duty rosters; Protestant Chaplain's registers; letter registers; and convict biographical information.

The album contains images taken in Chesterfield’s press photography days. Includes photos such as the collapsing of the Quebec bridge, and scenes of ‘typical’ Canadian life.

Includes manuscript in ink written on both sides of three pieces of birchbark concerning religious questions and gospel meeting held at Sharbot Lake, Ont., a letterbook for the period 1868-1873, relating to the finances of Grant's church in Halifax (volume 1); correspondence relating to the biography of Principal Grant by his son, W.L. Grant, 1902-1904 (volume 13). Letters from Grant to several well-known figures including Andrew Drummond, C.J. Low, Charles Mair, Sandford Fleming, Alexander Morris, Alfred E. Lavell, William Snodgrass and James Williamson.

The fonds consists of three volumes, kept by Punshon of his daily activities, speaking commitments and encounters of his European tours and his trip to British Columbia. The first volume contains records of two European trips, one in September and November of 1865, the second from a trip in May and June of 1866. The second volume records a European trip in September and October of 1867. The third journal chronicles a return journey made between Toronto and British Columbia from March through May of 1871, partially through the United States. It chronicles a a meeting with Brigham Young in Salt Lake City, travels through California, encounters in Nanaimo with the local Indigenous community, and journeys to New Westminster, Fort Hope and Fort Yale. All of the journals are illustrated by photographs, newspaper clippings, pressed leaves, flowers and plants of the various areas.

This series is comprised of material created by a variety of standing and ad hoc committees of the Board covering the variety of responsibilities, activities and business such as education, facilities, finances, spiritual life and celebrations that the Synagogue is responsible for formulating and managing for the congregation. This includes records from the following committees: Finance; Membership; Personnel (including Rabbi search committees); Building (concerned with the Synagogue); House (pertaining to Otterburn); Finance; Anniversaries; Honours, Talmud Torah; Youth Group; Adult education; Ladies Auxiliary; Ritual; and, Cemetery.

The Board activities series includes executive committee minutes, records from individual roles on the executive committee (ie president’s files and logs), minutes of the general meetings, board reports and governance documents (such as the Constitution and bylaws) as well as the correspondence of various individual Rabbis.
