Item is a portrait of John Adams (b. October 30, 1735; d. July 4, 1826), the second President of the United States (1797-1801), after being the first Vice President (1789-1797) for two terms. Regarded as one of the most influential Founding Fathers of the United States. Below the illustrated portrait is a pedestal with the inscription: "John Adams. Gezant der Noord-Americasche Staaten, in de Vereenigde Nederlanden." Published by Rein, Vinkeles.
