General note

Since the turn of the century this red brick building has housed the library - first as a mechanics institute, then in 1926 as an association library under the aegis of the Mill Creek Women's Institute. In 1928 Lady Sharpe (Margaret Breden) gave the property for use as a public library and in May 1973 the new Lennox and Addington County Public Library incorporated this outlet as its eighth branch.
