The position of Vice-Principal Operations and University Relations was created during a reorganization by Principal Smith in 1988. The role was partially created by the now-defunct Vice-Principal Institutional Relations position. Dr. Tom Williams moved from the Vice-Principal Institutional Relations position over into the Vice-Principal Operations and University Relations. This position was chiefly responsible for operations associated with physical services and long-term development of the campus. It was also responsible for student and community relations, and some student services. This role continued until the reorganization of the vice-principals in 1995 when it was disbanded.

Fonds consists of subject and correspondence files from the Office of Vice-Principal Operations and University Relations. Judging by the dates, it's apparent some of the files are also from predecessor offices.
