History

Earl W. Van Blaricom, a barrister and solicitor, was born in Belleville, Ontario. There, he attended Albert College from 1903 to 1907. He graduated from Queen's University with an MA in Biology in 1912 and he obtained his LL.B. from the University of Saskatchewan in 1916. He was appointed King's Counsel in 1929. A veteran of the First World War, he enlisted with Queen's 50th Battery in March 1916, and served with this until, then the 52nd Canadian Field Artillery, until July 1919. He married Vera Kathleen Van der Water (Arts 1919) on 12 June 1920. They had two children, Verna Merle and Lawrence Stickney.

Van Blaricom opened his law office, Van Blaricom, Hamilton & Woolliams, in Tisdale, Saskatchewan in 1948. He retired to Kelowna, British Columbia in 1957. He passed away in 1980, predeceased by his wife in 1973.
