This material has come through various sources. The microfilm was purchased from the Archives of Ontario, the textual records are part of the Lorne Pierce collection, and the manuscript of "The Golden dog" was transferred from Special Collections, Douglas Library, Queen's University.
Scope and content
Fonds consists of correspondence, diary, poetry, prose, biographical articles, critical commentaries, news clippings, photographs, scrapbook, and miscellaneous items relating to his library and estate. Microfilm material consists of correspondence from 1890-1906 and a diary from 1861-1864. Also included is the manuscript for "The Golden dog" from 1877, in both original and microfilm formats.
