This material has been copied in [197?] from the original collection that is deposited at the Archives of Ontario. Not all drawings that were collected are represented, these copies represent the drawings which were ordered by architecture professors here at Queen's University. This collection was created and amalgamated under the guidance of Eric Arthur in his capacity as a professor of architecture at the University of Toronto. The material was collected as a teaching resource. The collection was created by combining the drawings of architectural students going out into the field, drawing the buildings from existing structures, with the original drawings and plans of the initial architects. The intention was to create a resource of heritage buildings in Ontario.
Alcance y contenido
The drawings represent heritage buildings in many towns and regions in southern Ontario such as Adolphustown, Bath, Claireville, Cobourg, Cornwall, Grafton, Islington, Kingston, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Perth, Port Hope and Toronto. Two northern towns are represented by North Bay and Penetanguishene. The drawings represent a variety of structures from churches, clubs and rectories to commerical buildings, factories and mills. The material is organized alphabetically according to town or region.
