Edna Gertrude Barrett (née Van Order) was born on August 3rd, 1922. She resided in Kingston throughout her entire life. In 1947, she married Bruce Barrett, who owned a construction company. Her son, Joey, was born in 1948. She was involved in a variety of local associations and groups, including St. Margaret's Church, the Kiwanis Women's Association, the Conservative Women's Association, the U.C. Women's Group, the Kingston Historical Society, the KOPEC Committee, and she served as a volunteer at Kingston General Hospital.
