History

Patrick J. Conway (ca. 1922-1994) was a life-long resident of Syracuse, New York. He graduated from Niagara University and earned a Master's degree from Syracuse University. He was a lieutenant in the United States Navy during World War II, and elementary school teacher and, after his retirement in 1984, an auditor with the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance.

Conway was an avid collector of hockey memorabilia and statistics from the age of ten. He was a member of the Society for International Hockey Research, and it is through this connection that his collection was donated to the International Hockey Hall of Fame in Kingston.
