The fonds consists of video productions in a variety of formats (Umatic, VHS, created in-house by QTV for a variety of institutional clients and departments. Also includes slides of CORK 1975; visit by H.R.H. Queen Elizabeth II, 1976; Sailing Olympics off Portsmouth Harbour, 1976; Queen's University staff, 1970's. Stills from old QTV productions showing buildings, staff and research, both on an off the University campus.
Main Speakers: Multiple Queen's alumni First half of video consists of edited clips of several Queen's alumni talking about how the world is becoming more connected and how Queen's can prepare students for the future. Scope of video shifts from how Queen's is a fantastic school to how Queen's is in need of money and is fundraising. Second half of video is a duplicate of the first half, with roughly 2 minutes more footage used.
Part 1. Main Speakers: Johnathan Wills, B. Trotter, Many high-level acdemics from multiple different universities. A conference hall in Queen's and a conference hall in Edinburgh. Footage from live teleconference between representatives of many universities between a conference room in Queen's University and one in Edinburgh University. Topic of the conference seems to be on the evolution of technology and its uses.
Main Speaker: David Smith, Ruth Nita Barrow. Location: Large gymnasium.Begins with an opening prayer by University Chaplain, then Smith addresses the convocation and presents Barrow with an honourary degree. Barrow then addresses the convocaiton for the remainder of the video. Video ends with footage of the graduating students receiving their degrees.
Main Speaker: Allan Taylor, Vaira Vikis-Freibergs. Location: Large gymnasium. Begins with Smith talking about the convocation and two degree recipients before presenting Taylor with an honourary doctorate of laws. He addresses the convocation with a speech, and then Vikis-Freibergs is presented with her honourary degree. She speaks for the rest of the video.
