Invisible Empire Knights of the Ku Klux Klan Bulletin No. 1

Header reads "Invisible Empire, Knights of the Ku Klux Klan of Canada" Bulletin No. 1. Mentions the successful amalgamation of the major Klan bodies of Canada, which took some eighteen months. Negotiations since May 1926 between the Canadian Knights of the Ku Klux Klan in Western Canada, headquarters in Vancouver, and the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan of Kanada in Eastern Canada, headquarters in Toronto, between A.J. England and J.S. Lord to consummate the union. Mentions also that they have instituted a system of the Invisible Empire that is similar to Klan principles being operated in the British Isles, Australia, and South Africa. Negotiations included the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan in the united States to help define scope and field of operation, and build relations between Canadian and American bodies. Klansman England of the Western body was interviewed by Imperial Wizard Dr. Hiriam Evans of the United States Klan, and stated the requirements of the Canadian Klans in regard to discredited and banished men form the US Klan. An agreement was reached on the motto "At His Call I Will Answer", and a delegation from the Washington Headquarters of the American Klan met with Klansmen Lord and England on Oct 22 1927 in Toronto. Despite this official unity, there is another Klan organization in Eastern Ontario formally sponsored by JH Hawkins, a now banished member of the Ku Klux Klan of Canada. This organization is called the Ku Klux Klan of the British Empire, and has informally stated it wants to join the new united body. Towards end reads: "Until further instructed, former units of the Canadian Knights of the Ku Klux Klan and the Canadian Ladies of the Ku Klux Klan will continue to operate as heretofore, through the Western Regional headquarters" in Vancouver. Continues that the united organization will eventually be governed by a Council representing each Province in Canada, and provisional members of the council will be selected. Meanwhile, the Government Board will consist of Rev George Marshall, Rev. Charles E. Batzold, A.J. England, and J.S. Lord. Mentions where donations, dues, and reports are to be forwarded. Also mentions a "Klan coin" to be of copyright to serve as an identification between members and a ways to implement local funds available to Klans through their secretaries. Brief mention of the Protestant magazine "The Bisector" published in Vancouver for dissemination of news and educational matter of "general interest to Protestants of our race, and of particular interest to Klansmen and Klanswomen". Signed by AJ England, Imperial Caliph and Scribe Canadian Knights and Ladies of the Ku Klux Klan, and JS Lord, Imperial Klaliff and Kligrap Knights of the Ku Klux Klan of Kanada, and witnessed by Olive McElherney.

Bulletin #25

Title reads: "To All Geni, King and Major Kleagles, Kleagles, Imperial Representatives, and Citizens of the Invisible Empire". First, that the Imperial Klonsel, Homer B. Neely of the Imperial kloncilium of the Organization is working on a draft for the Constitution of the Ladies of the Ku Klux Klan of Kanada; Two, that Imperial Klaliff Jas. S Lord was in Winnipeg, Regina, Edmonton, and Vancouver this month, and their membership grows; Three, That on May 23 is a "great demonstration" in Huron County; Four, that on May 23, is the Lord's Day, "we shall gather about the Fiery Cross. We shall sing, pray, and be happy [...] See that all Robes and Helmets are spotlessly white, immaculately clean and pressed, all shoes in finest polish, etc... [...] Remember this is our very first "GREAT DAY" in Canada"; Five, that special robe orders and dues are paid and prepared, and that Membership Certificate Card has been made and must be used to enter all meetings until dies are paid and a National Pass Card has been issued; Six, that the National Headquarters is doing its best to give adequate lecture service to the cause, despite the expenses, so help is appreciated; Seven, reminder that Klan is not a "lodge", to "plan your work -work the plan. But above all WORK THE PLAN. Each Terror must perfect himself and herself in the work assigned"; Eight, that "idealism, insight and philosophy underlying the Invisible Empire constitutes the last thought in Anglo-Saxon, Protestant progress. Our principles are hoary with age and are commensurate with Israel's, (Anglo-Saxon_ struggle for rightful, human liberty. [...] Do not pass lightly over these teachings. Think them through. Put them into practice. The Klan is not "Ritual Bound" [...] Invisible Empire is found in "THE HOLLOW SQAURE" or "OPEN QUADRATE". The Quadrate was first used in Human history by Moses following a plan show him from Heaven. At the Exodus, the twelve tribes were formed about an open quadrate, three tribes to the corner. [...] The Ark of the Covenant was placed on the altar in the centre of the Quadrate, Moses stood at the centre of the Quadrate line -open space. The other three sides of the Quadrate were filled in by the twelve tribes. Our Klaverns are perfect quadrates - Hollow Squares. No one ever passes between the altar, the Ark of (our) Covenant and the station of the Exalted Cyclops. [...] Great Britain, long centuries ago, adopted the Quadrate, hollow square, as the basis of her offensive army formation. The Klan is symbolically following Moses to freedom. Following the Quadrate idea, K-UNO is a quadrate of quadrates in its fundamental principles and teaching. [...] The sign of the Quadrate [...] same as the sign of "KLANISHNESS" and also the sign of "KLAN LOYALTY". The sign is made by closing the fist of the right hand and placing it over the heart, then by closing the fist of the left hand and placing it over the elbow of the right arm. This forms a perfect quadrate in all men. This sign is made at all opening ceremonies, at all funerals, at all public demonstrations and is made and held in all Klan parades. [...] The quadrate revealed, both Kloranically and philosophically, is as follows: Dedicated in (1) body (2) mind (3) spirit (4) life; Dedicated to (1) our country (2) our klan (3) our homes (4) each other (humanity); Our Program (1) one of chivalry (2) one of humanity (3) one of justice (4) one of patriotism; Our Spirit: (1) honor (2) chivalry (3) industry (4) love; this completes the quadrate of quadrates for K-UNO [...] Take the principle of klannishness alone. The application of this fundamental principle in actual, practical demonstration, is a quadrate. We have sworn practice klannishness: (1) socially (2) physically (3) morally (4) vocationally; Our Ark of the (our) Covenant is composed of the following which constitute our sacred altar. They are: (1) the flag (2) the bible (3) the sword (4) the water; Our oath (Covenant) pledges protection to this Ark. We shall protect these even unto death. The symbolism will be further unfolded in Bulletin #30. The Ladies of the Ku Klux Klan of Kanada will understand these Bulletins apply to them also." Document signed by the "Invisible Empire Ku Klux Klan of Kanada".

Bulletin No. 41

Addressed to the "Faithful Klansmen and Klanswomen of the Ku Klux Canada". Reiterating that they do not recognize leadership under C.L. Fowler nor J.H. Hawkins, who have both been banished from the Ku Klux Klan of Canada. Therefore their recent claims about an amalgamation are false. Update on the robes, Officers are having their capes lined with red, yet only the Exalted Cyclops and Kleagles wear redlined capes, all other officers wear red covers on their hats, officers use red girdles. The Exalted Cyclops, "after retiring from that position continues to wear the robe, as a mark of distinction for the services which he rendered in that capacity. The robes worn by members are white, with white girdles and also white helmets". As for Open Air Demonstrations, they recently had a successful on in Kingston on July 31, where some thirty thousand people came. Successful ones also took place in Brockville, Toronto, Woodbridge, and out West in Debec and Meductic. Wish to soon have a good demonstration in Belleville at Smith Falls. Signed by J.S. Lord, Imperial Kligrapp, and George Marshall, Imperial Wizard.

"Dr. C. Lewis Fowler"

Titled "Dr. C. Lewis Fowler Sends Special Message to All Klansmen and Klanswomen in Canada". First, that in coming up to the Klonvocation, they are taking "the most important steps in the history of the Cause in Canada"; Two, that "no man can feel as I do toward this cause. I have the honor of being its Father in Canada. As such I have a right as well as a sacred obligation to think of it and to speak of it; hence this message. I have no personal ambitions, I crave no office, do not desire to be the Imperial Wizard, for with my own hands I wrote into the Laws the Words, the Imperial Wizard must be a native born Canadian citizen [...] But I have never had but one desire, viz; that of a great Organization set up in Canada [...] To this end I have given my pledge to the Committee that I will return here, will be in the Kloncovation and that I will remain as long as it is the will of the members in Klonvocation assembled for me to remain and train the men elected in all the Orders [...] I have delivered in trust the higher orders to a trust committee to hold for this body until they are ready for them. I am ready and willing to serve when the right kind of men are placed about me in the work"; Third, that he has given his life for this work, and wish the newly elected men will be men of experience; Fourth, that he urges them to come to Klonvocation and to "distribute the Kloncilium all over the Dominion so as to represent each and every section"; Five, that he feels that only he has "the obligation and the right to send this personal message"; and Six, that he hope he stirs their "pure minds by way of remembrance Future generations will be pleased if we are big, and true and wise now". Signed C. Lewis Fowler.

Bulletin No. 40.

Addressed to "Faithful and Esteemed Klansmen and Klanswoman". Begins with addressing the large "Publishing House in Ontario" that is "interested in our Anglo-Saxon Movement", that will publish a paper in their interest and financed by subscriptions from members. This "official paper" will help spread articles of instructions to members and others interested in the principles of their movement. The Publishing House has requested the Organization to supply material relative to their work, and they will publish items of current topics and general news. The weekly paper would cost $2.00 per year. Further addresses reports that there are too many that are "not" interested in the Klan, but use it as a "centre to air their family quarrels and social differences". This will only humiliate the Klan in "the eyes of the alien world". They thus need more members who will live up to their obligations, and work in Clannish unison. Signed by George Marshall, Imperial Wizard, and J.S. Lord, Imperial Kligrapp.
