The fonds consist predominantly of correspondence, photographs, and educational records from Isabel McLaughlin's late adolescence and adulthood; however, a few letters and educational records are from Isabel's childhood in Oshawa. The collection reflects Isabel's relationship with her family and friends and her involvement in the arts community, both as a patron and as an artist. Isabel's friendship and patronage extended to many well-known Canadian artists, including A.Y. Jackson, Lawren Harris, Anne Savage, Arthur Lismer, Prudence Heward, Yvonne McKague Housser, and Timothy Findley. Her involvement in arts organizations, such as the Art Students' League, the Canadian Group of Painters, the Haliconian Club, and the Robert McLaughlin Gallery, are also reflected in this collection. The fonds consist of the following series: Artistic activities, Cards, Correspondence, Education, Exhibition, Oshawa, Paris, Personal, and Photographs. Also included in this fonds is the sous-fonds of Robert Samuel McLaughlin. This sous-fonds contains material that Isabel had gathered together and seperated from her own records that pertained, or had belonged, to her father, R.S.McLaughlin.

The fonds consists of material predominantly from the period 1960-2000. They are a record of Dr. Angus' many and varied interests over the years and include her work as a playwrite, historian, architectural preservationist and genealogist. Apart from the genealogical material there are no personal papers here. Included with this fonds is a very nearly complete set of the minutes of Kingston LACAC meetings as well as the records of many other committees that Dr. Angus served on over the years. There are scripts of the many drama productions, particularly radio plays, that she wrote and worked on, records of special events and particularly the various heritage projects she was involved with along with subject files and genealogical files that she used to support her work. Many of these files contain photographs. There is also a large series of photographs, particularly slides, of historic buildings. While these photographs are of buildings in many parts of Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom, the vast majority of them are of Kingston buildings and scenes.

The fonds predominantly consists of of James' research notes, grant applications, interviews, correspondence, articles and drafts for his book and exhibition (at the Agnes Etherington Art Centre) on Albert Chesterfield: A Fur Trader's Photographs: A. A. Chesterfield in the District of Ungava, 1901-04 (1985). There is also a draft of his book Locations of the Sacred and material pertaining to Arthur Twomey's Needle to the North, which James edited for Oberon Press in 1982. Also includes James' research for the Religious Diversity Project, documenting religious organizations in Kingston, Ontario.

The fonds consists of various collected copies of family trees and other genealogical information for the Acheson, Robertson and Kenyon families from the Tay Valley/North Burgess geographic area. Of particular note is the information pertaining to Grace Kenyon, a cousin of Campbell's, who did missionary work in India in the 1940's. There is a small amount of original material in the fonds including 5 photographs of various Robertson family members. Also includes class exams written by Emma Campbell (nee Acheson) in the early 1940's from her nursing courses in a variety of subjects such as Anatomy and Physiology, Preventative Medicine, Pharmacology, Psychiatry and Psychiatric Nursing, Communicable Diseases, etc.

Herbert Clarence Burleigh fonds
The fonds consists of correspondence, scrapbooks, news clippings, transcripts of local diaries, and alphabetical family and genealogical files. These genealogical files, which relate mainly to Bay of Quinte and Loyalist families, contain correspondence, research from printed sources, newspaper clippings and some photographs. Also included is a set of ordnance survey maps of Kingston and area dated 1869.
