The fonds consists of correspondence; subject files; financial and legal records; minutes; reports; speeches and addresses; family genealogy records; photographs, posters; and clippings; much of it relating to a number of cultural and artistic groups in Kingston and around Ontario, including the Domino and Grand Theatres (Kingston), Kingston Regional Arts Counci, Agnese Etherington Arts Centre Tour Committee, Theatre Ontario, and the International Amateur Theatre Association. There is also a sound recording of an interview between Bill Luxton and Rich Little pertaining to the Eastern Ontario Drama Festival.

This collection consists of architectural drawings for Queen's University buildings and properties such as Douglas Library, Stirling Hall, Ontario Hall, George Richardson Memorial Stadium, and Miller Hall. Many of these drawings are for later renovations.
The collection includes all printed records of the university, including statutes, statistics, academic calendars, reports, publicity material, football programmes, history, convocation and honorary degrees, and examinations; as well as publications by affiliated organizations, including student groups, clubs and associations. Includes the Queen's Journal, Queen's Gazette, Queen's Alumni Review, Tricolour (yearbook) and many other periodicals, newspapers and publications.

The bulk of the records in the Eric Thrift fonds are from the time Mr. Thrift was a student at M.I.T. until he became a Professor Emeritus at Queen's University in 1981.
