Item is an window-and-back-matted albumen phorograph top-half portrait of Thomas Douglas; Earl of Selkirk, Established the Red River Colony, (b.1771-d.1820). back of matte has in pencil source and decription. Source is "from a small water color." Information includes "Founder of Selkirk settelment in North West 1820. member of th Hudson Bay Co.." on top of back writing is visible but hard to read.
