The fonds consists of architectural drawings executed in water colour of floor plans, cross sections and back elevation for Criminal Lunatic Jail, Kingston (later Kingston Psychiatric Hospital) ca. 1850 by Montreal architectural firm Hopkins, Lawford and Nelson. This proposed design was never instituted.
The fonds consists of sermons and funeral eulogies delivered by Nicols when he was a circuit rider in the Guelph-Waterloo and Etobicoke area. Some notes on baptisms and marriages for these areas and the townships of Pickering and Kings are included.
Scrapbook contains original poems and drawings related to Kingston about 1840-1846. There is a coloured lithograph of St. George's Cathedral after its renovations in 1846, drawings and watercolours of other Kingston scenes.
