Item is an window-matted, top-half, electro-steel in colour portraitof Charles Cornwallis; 2nd Marquis, British General (b.1730-d.1805). Engraved by F. Bartolsuri RA and printed by A.W. Devis, and published Febuarary 20th 1799 in Hanover square. Bollow image on the print is the inscription "To the Right Honerable Lady Louisa Bromwel this portrait of Marquis Cornwallis is by permission dedicated by her obedient servant. A.W. Devis." to the right of the print is the Cornwallis crest (Latin Virtus, Vincit, Invidiam) on to on the mat and a window matted parchment letter or envelope from 1828 with the subject signature. Matt is broken in lower left corner.
