The material reflects Humphrey's literary life from her teenage years up until 2010, and shows the process of writing books of both poetry and prose from beginning to end. The fonds is comprised of the following series: Correspondence; Daybooks; Promotional material; Teaching Material and Writings.

Also includes footage and photographs taken by Carl Shales, Lloyd's father, of a road trip from Kingston to British Columbia in 1923; the 1932 Kingston Air Show; R100; and various activities centred on, and around, the Kingston Flying Club.
